I'm feeling okay at the moment and have something else besides being sick to talk about. I was on Facebook and saw this challenge about simplifying your wardrobe. I have trouble with clothes, since it always feels like I'm not doing something right. I make all kinds of things. Some of them work. Some don't. My style changes, and I have trouble letting go of outfits I used to like. I see some fabric (like a certain rose-colored stretch velvet), and I buy it with plans for making something, but then I worry that it isn't right for that project. Some clothes are just not realistic for me, and I have trouble accepting that (like anything that would be worn with pantyhose, since I wear support socks, don't shave my legs, and hate wearing heels). We have really limited space, so it would make sense to get rid of stuff I will never wear. Also, I have an incredibly limited amount of time when I am functional, and I would rather spend that time writing than sewing.
Now that I've written this out, I see that it really would be helpful. Probably, I should first go through an work on getting my clothing down to pile that I actually wear. I can table the sewing projects that don't fit with my actual style. Some of those fabrics that I bought might work for other things, as some of them are just completely adorable. Some, however, I'm just going to have to give up on. *sigh* Anyway, I'm going to try this and see how it goes.
