Today was nice in that I got to talk with friends. However, a headache that I had for most of the day blossomed into a migraine by evening. This time, instead of having weird visual effects in the middle of my vision, I had it off to the left and up a bit, as though I had some kind of crazy sparkle fake eyelashes on that eye. I drank a bunch of water as soon as I realized what was happening, and it went away. However, I still have a bit of a headache. I'm also pretty tired, so it is time to rest.
Oh, however, in good news, I tried adding some acrylic pouring medium to my texture paste of glue and plaster of paris, and the result was far better than when I only used glue and plaster. Not only does it produce a smoother product but also it takes much longer to dry, which means that I have time to work with it before it turns into a sticky, clumpy mess. I managed to put this new texture medium on the bottom section of about half the areas in the computer hutch. Tomorrow, I'll try to do the other half. Then, my plan is to turn the whole thing 90 degrees and put texture paste on the new bottom of each section. If I keep doing that, I should be finished getting the texture paste on there after not too long (and with much less misery than previously). Also, since I finally finished putting texture paste on the section that will be attached to the back of one of the shelf areas, I can finally sand it and then paint it. I look forward to getting those done. I may not need to sand the areas with the new texture paste. At least most of them seem to be pretty smooth. It is okay if they have a bit of roughness, as I'm going to put gesso over them, and then paint nearly the whole thing to look like sandstone. It is only the really rough areas (mainly the ones that had the old texture paste) that will need sanding. I'm thinking of finishing up the whole hutch as much as possible, so that I can install it. Then, I'll make the drawers after it is all done, since they will just slide into the openings. My desk is covered with stuff that I would like to put away, so having the hutch done would be great.
