The photos of grapes have really helped with the still life. I painted four grapes today (they took an hour), and three of them were good enough to stay. I'll fix the other one soon. Each grape is like its own little painting. Luckily, the photo has a lot of grapes, so I can usually find ones that have similar shadows on them to the ones in the painting. I'll probably download some photos of green grapes with dramatic shadows too (done). I think the real trick is to open up the photo of the grapes in an image editor and look at what colors actually make up the grape. I'm painting red grapes now, and there is everything from a red gray to brown to various greens. Colors that are close to red seem really rare. I think green grapes have more greens in them, because they don't have the same kind of skin.
I'm back to drinking boiled water, and it seems to be helping. We'll see how I feel tomorrow. I'm really hoping that this fixes the stomach issues, as I haven't been able to wear my normal pants for days because my stomach is too sensitive to handle it. Ugh.
Oh, and I'm just tearing along with my Mass Effect story. If I make a lot of progress, I may be able to finish it before we reach the 10 year anniversary of when I started writing it. We'll see. It is, at least, going super well.
