Internet: done!
Dec. 20th, 2023 10:43 pmI went out today and got the thing I need for us to have internet. It turns out to be a mobile wifi hotspot. The max it can get is 150 mbps download and 50 mbps upload, which is okay. Chances are we will have less than that, but we can live with it for a while. I think the trick will be to make sure that we put it in just the right location and configure it to use 4G, which should work.
Tomorrow, our goal at the new house is to get it cleaned. There will be another round of scraping paint off the walls in the future, but it will be less messy than the previous work. Also, we just really hate how filthy the place is.
In good news, we heard back from the solar panel person, and he says he can have everything installed by the beginning of the second week of January at the latest. So, we are planning to move in as soon as possible after that. I also contacted the electric company to get them to come out and do an assessment, which means they will tell us if the electrical system there is grounded, I think. They also say we should have this done before having a bunch of new electrical things put in, so it is the right time. Hopefully, everything will have been installed correctly. * crosses fingers *
My face is a bit swollen from yesterday's dental work, but I'm super happy to have gotten one of the fillings done that needed to be done. The next one isn't going to be until January, as they are just super busy. However, it is so nice to get rid of all of these old fillings that are just waiting to fall apart. I don't _think_ I've had any cavities since I stopped eating simple carbs, but I have had plenty of problems with the teeth that have old fillings.
Now that we know when we are moving, I should probably send out my new address to everyone. I need to add that to the list....
