I think I mentioned that the house has woodworms. I have been stressing about this, because I really am unhappy about the treatment for it, as it will kill a lot of the other bugs in the house, many of which are good bugs who are making our house better. Also, if we have to leave for 3 days, then I don't believe that the stuff they are spraying is 100% totally safe for us. We would, of course, need to clean all the surfaces in the house after they spray. That sucks. However, Joel suggested trying a local solution (getting some spray and spraying the place where the woodworm is chewing). If that doesn't fix it, then maybe we'll need more help, but it is good to try. Also, Joel came up with the idea that when we buy new wood, we can put it in plastic bags, so that it won't infect the house. As I wrote this, I remembered that with lice, you can put items that can't be washed into plastic bags and leave them someplace that they will get very hot, like in a car, to kill the lice. ChatGPT says that this would work with woodworms too. So, that is our plan now. It gets plenty hot in the sun here, so we will put the wood in black plastic, seal it up, and leave it in the sun to roast all day. I'm so glad that we have an answer.
