Karimaround: Day 16
Jul. 7th, 2018 08:02 pmJoel and I walked to the food store through the center of Kota Kinabalu. We had a lovely time and got to see some really interesting things.
Karimaround: Days 14 and 15
Jul. 5th, 2018 08:55 pmI did next to nothing on Day 14, but I do relate some of Joel's adventure. On Day 15, we travel to Kota Kinabalu by ferry.

Karimaround: Day 12
Jul. 4th, 2018 05:15 pmI got the video uploaded! Yay! Our internet in Bandar Seri Begawan isn't fantastic, but sitting in one spot for a couple of hours worked. This is the video for Day 12, which was when we traveled from Kuala Lumpur (with bad or no sidewalks and a ton of traffic) to Bandar Seri Begawan (with great sidewalks and very little traffic).

Karimaround: Day 9
Jun. 30th, 2018 08:34 pmWe spent Day 9 walking around Kuala Lumpur. The city is massive. In addition to the movie advertisements I posted about yesterday, we saw a man riding a motor scooter singing happily, and I spoke to a nice woman from India who liked my outfit and hair.

Movies we saw advertised in Kuala Lumpur
Jun. 29th, 2018 11:33 pmToday, we walked around Kuala Lumpur. There were a zillion advertisements for "Tik Tik Tik", about which the internet says, "Tik Tik Tik is a sci-fi adventure thriller directed by Shakti Sounder Rajan. There is space station with a nuclear missile that can destroy the rogue asteroid. The in-charge of that space station seems to be in a quarrel with India. So, they enlist the service of a local magician to go into space and save the lives of millions of Indians." Awesome! Then, there was "Ant-man and the Wasp": "Scott Lang is grappling with the consequences of his choices as both a superhero and a father. Approached by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym, Lang must once again don the Ant-Man suit and fight alongside the Wasp. The urgent mission soon leads to secret revelations from the past as the dynamic duo finds itself in an epic battle against a powerful new enemy."
I don't watch movies or TV, but it is fun to read the description.

Karimaround: Day 1
Jun. 22nd, 2018 02:40 amWe made it to Singapore. It is warm and humid in a way that reminds us of a kitchen where pasta has been boiling. It reminds me and Sasha both also of parts of Bangkok (the really clean parts). While I had a difficult time with food on our flights and didn't really manage to sleep much, nonetheless I am super glad to be on this trip. I am sick, but I still am able to have a life worth living.

Karimaround: Preparations and Day 1
Jun. 20th, 2018 10:06 amWe're almost ready! We have made lists and packed, sewed and planned, printed out and checked in. Tonight, at 11pm, we'll leave St. Petersburg for Singapore. Once again, we'll be traveling with our friend Sasha, this time for 40 days.

I drew a little map to help everyone understand exactly where we will be going. I tried to label enough of the areas around our destinations so that it would be clear what is nearby. You should be able to see Thailand in the upper left and Australia in the lower right. If you click on the map, you can see a larger image. There isn't much more to say right now, but I do plan on posting a video every day, so stay tuned here for new posts.
