No news on the health law for foreigners here. Last week's quarterly blood test looked good with improvements in cholesterol and average blood sugar (HbA1c). Despite my continuing high intake of carbs (compared to keto diets, not compared to normal people's diets), I seem to be doing okay with both blood sugar and insulin resistance. (Note: my carbs are almost all in the form of split peas and lentils, which are high in carbs, but also high in fiber and protein.) So, I'm glad that I don't need to make any changes there.
My exciting news is that I'll be getting my ears pierced tomorrow. When we were in Dublin in 2019, I saw some cool earrings that I wanted. I ordered them online, and then Covid hit and everything stopped. I finally got the earrings a month or so ago, and I'm going to get them put in the holes I have now (with some stretching, I guess) and will get new holes (also in my ear lobes) for the old earrings. Of course, I'm nervous, because it is something new. However, I'm excited about it.
